Redefining our Relationship with Money

Guest Post by Andrea Weber, Business Group Co-ordinator

Most of us spend a lot of time wishing we had lots more of it, breathing a sigh of relief when it finally comes in and then watching in dismay as it flies out the door again! We’ve probably read and tried to practise all the positive thinking stuff we can get our hands on and yet we’re still scratching our heads wondering what on earth we’re doing wrong. Why do we have such a precarious relationship with money, and why do some people seem so ‘fortunate’ or downright ‘lucky’?

I’d like to introduce you to Sarah McCrum, our Special Guest Speaker for the Business Group of the Sensitive Empowerment Community.

Sarah has a most intuitive and insightful perspective about money, how money is seen, how it is valued, and how it is used. Her enlightened approach has helped so many people make a real difference in their lives, both personally and professionally.

Sarah explains that so much of what is possible for each and every one of us often ends up being blocked by our own ingrained beliefs, our misalignment with receiving, and our focus on limitation.

Money is simply a source of energy that needs love and movement and if we learn how to make beautiful requests in a way that sets the scene for optimum delivery, we are well on our way to enhancing our lives and being in a position to enrich our communities and our planet.

There is a truly aligned interconnectedness in the movement of money that many of us are not even aware of or understand. How many of us really see money as a beautiful energy and something to be loved?

For those of us who are solo entrepreneurs, money really does make the world go round. We need money to start and maintain our business and to reach our ultimate goal of living comfortably doing what we love, helping others, and reaching financial freedom for ourselves and our families. This is only possible if we have a healthy understanding and appreciation of how money works, what really is possible, and how we can embrace being receptive to the good that it can bring.

To cover all of these topics and so much more, it is with great delight that I will be interviewing Sarah at the end of August where we’ll be discussing the following:

  • How to make money your friend.

  • What money really is and how it really works.

  • Asking for what you want in a way that works.

  • How to relax about money.

  • Becoming open and receptive to money

  • The new energy of money for business models.

  • A glimpse into the future of money.

We've also just created a 5 Day 'Thoughts on Money' Challenge in preparation for the event where we can have some fun simply observing (in a non-judgmental way) our thoughts and conversations around money.

As an example, since I've been reading Sarah's book, “Love Money, Money Loves You”, I've noticed that my thoughts often drift externally towards other people when I'm thinking about money - whether positive or negative. It's made me question where my energy is going in relation to this and I'm realizing the need to shift this back towards myself.

Over these next 5 days, observe your thoughts and energy around money. How does it make you feel? Are you asking for help and guidance in making and receiving money and how are you doing this? What is the energy surrounding these requests?

Also, have a think about the following statement, "I am choosing to have more."  What thoughts, feelings, and emotions come up around this?

There's a lot to be learned if we are open to being honest and discovering more.

There is certainly a way forward through all of the challenges that present themselves where money is concerned and there is so much we can do to empower ourselves in the process.  We deserve to give ourselves this opportunity to thrive financially as much as in any other area of our lives. In many cases, unless we are thriving financially, we are unable to reach our goals elsewhere.
