Welcome Home, Highly Sensitives! By Christine Magnussen
Guest post by Christine Magnussen
I have known I was a sensitive person since I played with imaginary fairies in the dirt when I was 5. When the shutdown happened a year ago, I was teaching dance and harp in retirement homes. My dear senior friends were soon isolated in their own apartments and I could no longer see them. My spirit and my income deflated.
The stress of abbreviated holidays (with my birthday on Christmas Day) triggered a number of emotions and challenges that I needed to learn to manage. I’ve read numerous books about being a highly sensitive person, but I needed HSP tools!
In a Google search for HSP classes, I landed on Empowering Highly Sensitive People: Take the free Sensitivity Quiz → created by its compassionate expert, (HSP) therapist founder, Julie Bjelland. Learning that my HSP score was 43 out of 45 on the Sensitivity Scale, I dove right in to explore the site and discovered an HSP community vaster and more familiar than I could have imagined. Rich with podcasts, Zoom calls, articles and meaningful interaction, members feel the Sensitive Empowerment group is “home with other HSPs who get us!”
Perusing the enticing HSP courses, I jumped into Blooming Brilliantly, a 14-lesson self-paced course overflowing with valuable videos, resources and life- transforming HSP realizations and tools to “help you grow and love who you are.” We learn about boundaries for the HSP, conserving and restoring our energy, sleep, clearing negative energy, and so much more.
I savor each lesson, full of new perspectives and self- awareness practices and can’t wait to take each of the courses offered by Julie Bjelland starting with Brain Training For the Highly Sensitive Person -Techniques to Reduce Anxiety & Overwhelming Emotions and How to Grow a Heart- Centered Online Business. I believe these HSP courses and the Sensitive Empowerment community can change or even save your life!
I look forward to seeing you there!
