This community is like an HSP wonderland

Love this message that came in from an HSP about this video…

"I listened to [your video] that you posted about the empowerment community. I was honestly blown away. The information is so valuable and the things you said made me realize what a seriously “untrained” HSP I am. I have SO much to learn. I understand more about the community you created and the difference I’m sure it would make to be a part of that community...Thank you for being there. You are such an amazing help to all of us HSPs and I know now that I really want (and need) to be part of such a supportive community."

What HSPs are saying about our community

This is honestly a place I so look forward to coming every single day now…it feels like coming home to a place with no judgment and I feel calm when I am here.

Julie, you are amazing! The people you are bringing together are so beautiful and intelligent.

I really enjoy being able to connect with other HSPs and have a safe space to be myself.

The group is far more calm than other HSP groups on line where HSP's like me can feel overwhelm quite easily. Being hosted by a medical professional with HSP expertise makes this group like no other HSP resource.

This HSP community offers an abundance of inspiration and encouragement, valuable information, heartfelt sharing, and many unfolding possibilities. I also appreciate Julie’s compassionate, motivational and inclusive leadership.

I’ve been loving it actually. It’s been great to interact with everyone here… it’s become one of my primary go-to’s when I need to decompress.

I like that I know there is a safe space to express myself as an empowered HSP. The information and reminders support me in taking  care of myself with a sensitivity trait.

In this community, you learn how to say no without guilt, set healthy boundaries that improve your relationships and care for and honor your needs.

Questions answered in Some of our Q/A events

  1. Have you found any relation to being an HSP and being on the autism spectrum. I know I've read somewhere people on the spectrum often suffer from over stimulation.

  2. Do you find some medical professionals and therapists are skeptical about this trait and what do you recommend if they are not open about learning about the trait?

  3. How do I withdraw from social situations I just get a sense to not be in without me cutting off all social contact and appear to be unfriendly or have to explain myself.

  4. Are there any tests that a family physician could do or request to confirm/verify sensory processing sensitivity?

  5. How do other HSPs handle selling or a sales position? Fear of rejection, fear of looking pushy, etc. Especially at the beginning.

  6. I’m becoming more sensitive as I get older and can no longer tolerate “loudness”. Movie theaters, crowded restaurants, loud parties, public transit - Is this common?

  7. Does menopause change anything for HSPs?

  8. Mundane everyday chores and keeping up the house are very difficult and overwhelming for me. I’d love ideas on how to make the everyday life stuff easier.

  9. Is dreaming a form of processing? I have woken today with maybe 20 points from an exhausting night dreaming doing activities that are overwhelming. When I am awake I can catch myself. Can we overstimulate our nervous system if we have these kinds of dreams.

  10. Since I was a child, I've gotten strong first impressions of certain people I've met. Most of my impressions have been true. Is this considered a HSP trait?

  11. I work in the busy, fast-paced medical world and I find by the end of the day, I have so many impressions, stories, and feelings from my treatment sessions with patients as well as feeling stimulated by the environment itself (alarms, overhead announcements, many other professionals, etc). It's what I love, and also what can be quite tiring. I'd love to hear more about how an HSP in a 'people-focused career' can best take care of themselves, both on the job and outside of work, while also being present for the work. Thanks for your thoughts.

  12. What is the ROOT cause for most HSPs symptoms?

  13. How we can best support the nervous system during times of increased stress?

  14. I’ve already hit the “burn out” stage and have been trying to recover while attempting to remain productive at work. So far the only thing that seems to help is complete calm and quiet and not being around pretty much anyone, but that isn’t a realistic option, so whatever I can do to help my body cope while I try to recover my sensitive energy would be great (if it is at all possible...)

  15. Are you finding that more HSPs are affected by certain chronic conditions?
