Abstract Painting Adventures Workshop with Nicola Newman

Guest Post

Nicola Newman is a professional artist who offers creative workshops for members of the Sensitive Empowerment Community. These workshops are perfect for those who want to explore their creativity and learn new techniques. Nicola's passion for art is evident in her paintings, and she enjoys sharing her knowledge with others.

We have decided to share one of Nicola's creative workshops to give you a taste of what it's like inside the community and warmly invite you to join us there if you'd like to do more workshops like this one.

In her workshops, you'll find most of the art materials needed are simple supplies you probably already have tucked away in a drawer. She begins each session with a demonstration, followed by guidance and support for participants as they paint their own artworks on paper or canvas.

At the end of the workshops, participants often say how they feel more connected to their creativity, inspired to quieten their inner critic, and a willingness to embrace expressing themselves with more playfulness and curiosity. Plus, they have a unique painting (or multiple paintings!) that they created themselves.

Nicola’s desire is to help people nurture their innate creativity and build loving relationships with themselves. Her workshops are suitable for all levels of experience, from beginners to experienced painters.

Explore your creativity, learn new techniques, and have fun!

Nicola's Abstract Painting Adventures Workshop is the perfect way to explore your creativity and learn new techniques. You'll have a blast trying out different painting techniques and experimenting with colour. By the end of the workshop, you'll have created a beautiful abstract painting you can be proud of.

Nicola is excited to share this simple and easy exercise you can do at home to reignite your creativity and use colour, pattern and shapes to create beautiful artworks on paper, even if you haven't painted anything since you were at school. It's a fun and simple technique anyone can do and doesn't take a lot of fancy resources.

You are invited to use your choice of either watercolour or acrylic paints (whatever you have available!) to paint abstract compositions on paper exploring geometric shapes and patterns.

What Nicola loves about this process, is it is a mindful practice that helps us to slow down, be present and notice colour, form and pattern, while also connecting with our natural intuition. Plus, it's loads of fun!

Nicola’s clients love this process and she thinks you will too. Her approach is all about experimentation and playing with colour and texture.

"I like to encourage people to let go and have fun with it," she says. "There are no rules in abstract painting, so anything goes."

Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned artist, this workshop is sure to be a creative adventure.
